Ensure you have capicom.dll stored in your %windir%\system32(or %windir%\SysWow64, on a 64-bit operating system) folder. The DLL must also be registered. An error will result if the DLL is not registered.
Installation instructions for digital certificates must be obtained from your Certificate Authority.
If you are also licensed for Secure Packaging, to be used in conjunction with Digital Signatures, you must contact your first line of support so that a certificate thumbprint can be specified in the database. The certificate thumbprint is from the certificate users will be using to securely sign document packages.
With Secure Packaging, users are able to export documents as a secure package. Recipients of secure packages must install and/or have access to the Secure Package Verification Utility in order to determine the integrity of documents contained within the package. See the following section for more information on installing the Secure Package Verification Utility.
