City Bank keeps all records of deposit slips and checks from every branch of each city in a directory. The root directory is located in C:\_City Bank Checks and Deposits. The following is the directory structure they use:

City Bank wants to import all checks and deposits slips from every branch. Checks should be imported into the Default Document Type of AP - Checks. Each check file must also be assigned the Teller # Keyword Type, the Check # Keyword Type, and the Date Effective Keyword Type. Each file name follows the format of [Teller #],[Check #],[Date Effective].tif.

Deposit slips should be imported into the Default Document Type of AP - Deposits. Each deposit slip file must also be assigned the Teller # Keyword Type, the Deposit Slip # Keyword Type, and the Date Effective Keyword Type. Each file name follows the format of [Teller #],[Deposit Slip #],[Date Effective].tif.

Since the files in this directory need to be imported into two different Document Types, a Default Mapping cannot be used. To configure a Directory Import Processor process for City Bank's directory, the following is configured:

  • Subfolders that follow the structure and exact naming convention of City Bank's directory.

  • A Default Document Type of AP - Checks for each Checks Subfolder.

  • A Default Document Type of AP - Deposits for each Deposits Subfolder.

  • A file name Ordered Keyword Mapping for each Checks folder that assigns the Teller #, Check #, and Date Effective Keyword Types.

  • A file name Ordered Keyword Mapping for each Deposits folder that assigns the Teller #, Deposit Slip #, and Date Effective Keyword Types.

The process is configured with Subfolders in the following way:

Each Checks Subfolder is configured with the Default Document Type of AP - Checks as seen in the following image:

Each Deposits Subfolder is configured with the Default Document Type of AP - Deposit as seen in the following image:

Each Checks Subfolder is configured with a file name Ordered Keyword Mapping in the following way:

Note:

City Bank must format the Date Effective Keyword Type to process the date Keyword Value correctly. See Date Formatting for more information on formatting date Keyword Types.

Each Deposits Subfolder is configured with a file name Ordered Keyword Mapping in the following way:

Note:

City Bank must format the Date Effective Keyword Type to process the date Keyword Value correctly. See Date Formatting for more information on formatting date Keyword Types.
