You can use the Create Single Document per Directory option to archive all images in the same directory as a single, multi-page TIFF.

CAUTION:

Importing a multi-page TIFF from the source directory only imports the first page into the archived single, multi-page TIFF document in OnBase.

The file names of the documents to be archived have the following limitations:

  • File names of the documents to be archived must all begin with a number and be numbered consecutively, starting at one. The number in the file name represents the page number in the imported TIFF. For example, the document whose file name begins with 01 will become page 1, 02 will become page 2, etc.

    Note:

File names that do not begin with a number cause the Directory Import Processor process to fail. If you are using Ordered Keyword Mappings, see Using Ordered Keyword Mappings with the Create Single Document Per Directory Option for information on how to ignore the number at the start of the file name.

  • Numbers can start either with or without leading zeros. For example, 1, 01, or 001.

  • Two images cannot start with the same number.

  • Numbers can be skipped as long as each file name begins with a consecutive number. For example, file names numbered 01, 03, and 05 will be imported as pages 1, 2, and 3 in the imported TIFF.

The following considerations apply to the Keyword Types of the single document archived into OnBase:

  • Multiple files imported from a folder must contain the same Keyword Type mappings to archive multiple Keyword Values in OnBase.

  • If the Keyword Values are the same for all files, that Keyword Value is only imported once.

  • If the Keyword Values are different and the Keyword Type is not part of a Multi-Instance Keyword Type Group or Single-Instance Keyword Type Group, multiple Keyword Values are imported for that Keyword Type.

CAUTION:

You cannot import multiple Keyword Values when using a Single-Instance Keyword Type Group assigned to the Document Type. If a Single-Instance Keyword Type Group is assigned to the Document Type, only the last Keyword Value found during the Directory Import Processor process is indexed for the imported Document Type.
