Configure a Default Mapping to apply a configured Document Type to all imported files found in folders in the root directory.
You can only add one Default Mapping per folder.
Default Mappings should be configured if your process meets one of the following criteria:
-
All folders in the directory to be processed should be imported into OnBase. No folders should be ignored.
-
All folders being imported must be imported using the same Document Type.
If neither of these points meet your specific configuration, you may need to configure a Subfolder. For more information on configuring Subfolders, see Configuring Subfolders.
To add a Default Mapping:
Each Default Mapping must be assigned a directory Keyword Mapping or a file name Keyword Mapping, depending on how your directory is configured. See the following sections for information on configuring Keyword Mappings:
-
To assign Keyword Values based on the position and length of the text in the directory or file name, see Configuring Fixed Keyword Mappings
-
To assign Keyword Values based on the order in which the text appears in the directory or file name, see Configuring Ordered Keyword Mappings
For examples of configuring a Default Mapping, see the Default Mapping Example and the Default Mapping and Subfolder Example.
