You can increase the security of your local Disk Group by enabling Encrypt local diskgroup. Doing so will help ensure that documents stored in the local Disk Group cannot be viewed outside of the Disconnected Scanning client.

CAUTION:

While enabling Encrypt local diskgroup will encrypt the batch data on image documents stored in the local Disk Group, it will not encrypt the batch data on non-image documents stored in the local Disk Group. See Securing Non-Image Documents in the Local Disk Group for more information.

To enable Encrypt local diskgroup in the Disconnected Scanning client:

  1. Click Settings | Local diskgroup.... The Local diskgroup settings dialog box is displayed.
  2. Select Encrypt local diskgroup.
    Note:

This option is only available if there is no batch data on the local Disk Group and if you have the DS Client Administrator Administrative Processing Privilege Product Right.

  3. Click OK.
