It is recommended that the following best practice information be supplied to users who will be scanning and indexing documents via Disconnected Scanning.

It is considered a best practice that you be aware of the number of documents to be scanned as part of the batch to ensure the size of the scanned batch does not exceed available space in the disk group volume. Once a scan process has begun, OnBase will not promote a disk group volume; if the size of the batch exceeds the available space in the volume, the volume will be larger than expected and may not able to be stored on the disk or sent to other media (i.e., CDs, DVDs).

TIFF is the preferred file format for storing images in OnBase. Whenever possible, it is considered a best practice to store image documents as bi-tonal (black and white) TIFF-Group IV files. If you need to store documents as color or grayscale images, it is considered a best practice to store them as JPEG files.
