An image may be displayed with a black border as an unintended result of the scanning process. To configure the black border removal process, click Black Border Removal. The Black Border Properties dialog box is displayed.

Property

Description

Enable

Activates black border removal, which changes black pixels to white, keeping the original document dimensions.

Crop

Removes black pixels from the image border, reducing the size of the image by the amount of border removed.

White Noise Gap

Specifies the maximum number of consecutive white pixels that are considered part of the border. If the number of white pixels encountered in the border is greater than the number specified in this field, the system treats the area as the edge of the page and stops the border removal process.

When finished, click OK to return to the Image process settings dialog box.
