Select the scanning method you want to use by clicking the Select scanning method button and then selecting Kofax, ISIS, Twain, Sweep, or PaperStream:
The TWAIN scanning method is the default scanning method used with Disconnected Scanning; it requires no additional software or configuration.
In order to use a Kofax scanning method, you must have Kofax hardware or software installed on the Disconnected Scanning workstation.
In order to use an ISIS scanning method, you must have the Hyland Bar Code Recognition software installed on the Disconnected Scanning workstation.
In order to use a PaperStream scanning method, you must have Fujitsu PaperStream IP hardware or software installed on the Disconnected Scanning workstation.
The Sweep option allows you to import electronic files that reside on a storage medium into a scan queue. Sweeping is not the same as scanning from disk. Sweeping does not provide the ability to alter or “clean up” graphics with Kofax image controls. Sweeping does not require that you install Kofax Image controls or Kofax Software Virtual ReScan (SVRS) with the Adrenaline Image Processing Engine (AIPE). At the time of sweeping, you can specify the sweep path, file name(s), and whether you wish to sweep all files in the path or image files only.
If you select Sweep as the scanning method, then Sweep is automatically selected as the scan source and all the standard selections (see Selecting a Scan Source) are eliminated from the Source drop-down menu.
