When using DDS to access a document file, the Windows security privileges assigned to the Windows user running the OnBase Client are used to achieve UNC failover. DDS is only used after a complete failure of the Windows users' permissions, and after failover has occurred, OnBase will then use a D D SServer user account to access the document files. There are three options to determine/configure the D D SServer user:

  • Running as an application: The logged in Windows user is the D D SServer user.

  • Running as a service: The “SERVICE” account is the D D SServer user.

  • Running as a service: Assign a Windows account to the D D SServer service in the Hyland DDS Service Properties dialog box.
