In a default installation, OnBase uses DDS as a failover or backup access method to read or write disk group files. In other words, OnBase always uses standard UNC paths first to access a Disk Group location, and only if that fails is DDS used to access the same location. However, in some situations it may be necessary to use DDS first, instead of using it only as a failover, such as when troubleshooting, or to control which user groups have access to DDS.
