In the OnBase Configuration module, you can configure specific user groups to have special File Access to DDS.

To configure File Access permissions for DDS:

  1. In the OnBase Configuration module, click Users | User Groups / Rights. The User Groups & Rights dialog is displayed.
  2. Select the appropriate User Group from the list and click File Access. The File Access Controls dialog is displayed.
  3. The following options are available for selection:
    • Default Access- When this option is selected, OnBase will use DDS as a failover or backup access method to read or write disk group files.

    • Always Use UNC- When this option is selected, OnBase will never use DDS and will always use the UNC access method to read or write disk group files.

    • Never Use UNC- When this option is selected, OnBase will always use DDS and will never use the UNC access method to read or write disk group files.
