Distributed Disk Services runs as a Windows service or as an application. It will be run in the security context of a user, such as the default SERVICE user, but preferably an administrative user. Access to DDS is configured in the OnBase Configuration module, and when properly configured, Distributed Disk Services provides access to all files and directories on the network that the OnBase user needs to access. When the OnBase Client module is launched, it reads all DDS servers from the database and checks to see which ones are available.

If you are implementing Distributed Centera Service or Distributed Tivoli Service solutions, see the appropriate Integration documentation.
