Initial discovery is performed via UDP, but after this initial discovery phase all other traffic is handled via TCP.
Note:
DDS requires unrestricted bidirectional network access for User Datagram Protocol (UDP) and Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) between the client and server on the specified port.
