CAUTION:

Rotating the encryption key requires that any OnBase Clients, servers, or services accessing the distributed services server be restarted. Before rotating the encryption key, ensure that this requirement will not interfere with the work of any users or automated processes.

  1. Click Rotate Key in the Distributed Services Encryption dialog box.
  2. Confirm this action at the warning prompts. Rotating the encryption key requires that any OnBase Clients, servers, or services accessing the distributed services server be restarted. A dialog box is displayed stating how many servers the encryption key is updated for.
  3. Click OK. The new encryption key data is sent to the distributed services server.
  4. Restart any OnBase Clients, servers, or services that use the distributed services server, including the distributed services server.
    Note:

If the encryption key cannot be rotated due to a communication error or for any other reason, the value of the key is reverted to the previous value.
