Document Packaging can be configured to allow users to create Document Packages without Document Package templates.

To configure Non-Template options in the OnBase Configuration module

  1. Select Document Packages from the Document menu.
  2. Select Non-Template. The Non-Template Document Packages Configuration dialog box is displayed.
  3. To enable the creation of Document Packages without Document Package templates, select Enable Non-Template Document Packages. The options in the Settings section are then enabled.
  4. Configure the following options

    Option

    Description

    Include Table of Contents

    Select to include a table of contents in a generated or previewed document packaget.

    When this is selected, the Table of Contents Page Size drop-down list is made available. Use the Table of Contents Page Size drop-down list to set the size at which the table of contents is rendered. The following options are available:

    • Letter

    • Legal

    • A3

    • A4

    Include Note Text After Documents

    Select to add the text of any notes contained on package documents to the packet. Notes are displayed on a separate page following the document they belong to

    Header

    Click to configure a header for Document Packages created without a template. See Configuring a Header or Footer for more information.

    Footer

    Click to configure a footer Document Packages created without a template. See Configuring a Header or Footer for more information.

    User Groups

    Click to specify the User Groups that will be able to create Document Packages without a template. See step 2 of Assigning User Groups to a Template in Document Packages Configuration for more information.

    Never Use Unity Scheduler

    Note:

    This option only impacts Document Package generation that is initiated from within the Unity Client.

    Select to prevent users from generating Document Packages in the background using the Unity Scheduler. When this options is enabled, Document Packages are generated in the Unity Client immediately after clicking Generate Package.

    Always Use Unity Scheduler

    Note:

    This option only impacts Document Package generation that is initiated from within the Unity Client.

    Note:

    This option assumes that a Document Packages Unity Scheduler task has been created and configured for your data source. For information on how to configure the Document Packages Unity Scheduler task, see the Unity Scheduler module reference guide.

    Select to force users to generate Document Packages in the background using the Unity Scheduler. When this option is selected, Document Packages are generated by the Unity Scheduler using schedules configured in the Unity Management Console. See the Unity Scheduler module reference guide for more information.

    Note:

    When this option is selected, Automatically Display the Assembled Package After it Has Been Generated is disabled.

    Allow User To Choose Method of Generation

    Note:

    This option only impacts Document Package generation that is initiated from within the Unity Client.

    Note:

    This option assumes that a Document Packages Unity Scheduler task has been created and configured for your data source. For information on how to configure the Document Packages Unity Scheduler task, see the Unity Scheduler module reference guide.

    Select to allow users to choose between generating Document Packages in the Unity Client immediately or generating Document Packages in the background using the Unity Scheduler. When this option is enabled, both the Generate Package and Generate Package In Background buttons are available in the Package Content Selection dialog box.

  5. Click OK.
