Before Document Packages can be created, at least one of the following tasks must be completed:

  • One or more templates must be configured in the OnBase Configuration module or OnBase Studio. For information on configuring templates, continue reading this section.

  • Document Package creation without the use of templates must be enabled and configured in the OnBase Configuration module. For more information, see Configuring Non-Template Options.

Note:

Your system must be configured for Document Package creation without the use of templates if users are to have the ability to initiate Package generation from a selection of multiple documents included in a document search results list.

Templates can be as restrictive as necessary. Templates can automate the entire Document Package creation process or simply dictate the Document Types included.

To create a new Document Package template:

  1. In the OnBase Configuration module, select Document Packages from the Document menu.
  2. Select Templates.
  3. The Document Package Configuration dialog box is displayed.
  4. Enter a new Package Name in the text field beneath the existing packets list.
  5. Click Create. The Document Package User Group Configuration dialog box is displayed.
  6. To assign one or more User Groups to the template, select the appropriate User Groups from the Available User Groups list and click Add.
To remove one or more User Groups from the template, select the appropriate User Groups from the Selected User Groups list and click Remove.
  7. Click Close. Continue to Selecting the Archive Document Type to complete the process.
