Document Packages are OnBase documents, and so they need to be indexed with Keyword Values. You must assign the Keyword Types for the document while configuring the package template.

To assign keywords for a Document Package template:

  1. From the Document Package Configuration dialog box, select the template for which you would like to assign Keyword Types.
  2. Click Keywords. The Document Package Keywords Configuration dialog box is displayed, which lists available Keyword Types from the configured archive Document Type.
  3. Assign Keyword Types to the package template by selecting Keyword Types from the Available Keyword Types column and doing one of the following:
    • Click Do Not Inherit Keyword Value, or double-click a Keyword Type, to add the Keyword Type to the package template without automatically setting a value.

    • Click Inherit Keyword Value to add the Keyword Type to the package template and automatically set its value to the corresponding Keyword Value for the primary document.

To remove Keyword Types from the package template, select the appropriate Keyword Types from the Selected Keyword Types column and click Remove, or double-click them.

    Note:

Keyword Types in Single Instance Keyword Type Groups are available for selection from the Available Keyword Types list, but Keyword Types in Multi-Instance Keyword Type Groups are not supported for use with Document Packages and so are not listed.

  4. To configure the value for an assigned Keyword Type, select the Keyword Type in the Selected Keyword Types list and click the Value button. The Keyword Value Configuration dialog box is displayed.
  5. Enter any combination of static text or available variables into the Keyword field.

Use the available variable buttons to insert a variable. You can also manually type the variable symbols into the Keyword field. Variables are dynamically populated during package creation. For more information on available variables, see Using Variables in Keyword Values, Headers, and Footers.

    Note:

The Keyword field is limited to a maximum of 150 characters.

  6. To add multiple Keyword Type instances into the Keyword Value you are configuring:
    1. Enter a number in the Repeat field to specify how many instances of the Keyword Type to use in the Keyword Value you are configuring. For example, a value of 4 would display up to four unique Keyword Values. Alternatively, you can enter an asterisk character (*) to use all existing values of the Keyword Type.
    2. Select the appropriate Keyword Type from the Keyword Type drop-down list to insert the specified number of instances into the value you are configuring.
      Note:

If a primary Document Type has been configured for the template, available Keyword Types are limited to those associated with the assigned Document Type. If a primary Document Type has not been configured, all possible Keyword Types are listed.

  7. Click Save when finished to return to the Document Package Keywords Configuration dialog box.
  8. Configure additional Keyword Values as needed, then click Close.
