Depending on your privileges, you can override and change the configured settings for a Document Type contained in a Document Tracking folder. Overriding configured system settings is useful when the configured system settings do not accommodate a particular process.
Override settings are applied to current documents and newly imported documents.
To override and change Document Type expected date and expiration settings:

From the Documents layout, do one of the following:

Right-click the folder whose Document Type settings you would like to modify and select Override Settings.

Right-click any one of the Document Types contained in the corresponding folder and select Override Settings.
The Override Document Tracking Settings dialog box is displayed:

Select a Document Type to change its settings.
Tip:
If you selected Override Settings from a Document Type, that Document Type is already selected.
- In the field below Number of Documents, enter the number of documents to track for the selected Document Type. If the number of documents in the Document Tracking folder for this Document Type is less than the number entered, the Document Type is considered to have documents missing.

Select from the following options:

Override Expected Date
Select to override and change the Document Type expected date.
Expected
Select if this Document Type is expected to be included in the Document Tracking folder.
Enter a number of days in the Days field. If a document from this Document Type is not included in the folder within the specified amount of days, the document is considered late.
Override Expiration
Select to override and change the Document Type expiration.
Expires
Select to change document expiration. Then, select one of the following options:

By Number of Days- To change document expiration for certain number of days, type a number of days in the Days field.

By Keyword Value- Select this option to change document expiration for the Keyword Value of the specified Expiration Date Keyword Type.
Note:This option is only enabled if an Expiration Date Keyword Type has been configured and assigned to the Document Type. The selected date is only applied to the current documents. It is not applied to newly imported documents.

By Period- To change document expiration for an end of calendar period, select one of the following from the corresponding drop-down list:
End of Month- Documents should expire at the end of the month.
End of Quarter- Documents should expire at the end of the quarter.
End of Half- Documents should expire at midyear.
End of Year- Documents should expire at the end of the year.

Annually by Date- To change document expiration for a specific date in the following calendar year, select the month and day from the corresponding drop-down lists.
For example, say the year is 2014 and you specify July 4 as the expiration date. A document imported on June 20, 2014, would not expire until July 4, 2015.
Type a number of days in the Warning Period field to change a warning period. This warning period indicates the number of days from the expiration date that the warning period will begin. For example, if the Warning Period is configured as 7, the warning period will begin 7 days before the document expires.
Note:Like required Document Types, optional Document Types can cause a Document Tracking folder to be noncompliant when configured for expiration.
Restore to Default Settings
Changes the Document Type expected date and expiration settings back to the original configured settings.
