The package configuration is saved as an XML file in the database. The size limit for the XML file is 64,000 characters. If your package exceeds this limit a warning is displayed and you cannot save the package configuration.
To avoid this issue, create several smaller packages that contain different Document Types instead of configuring a single package to contain all the Document Types requested.
