Document Transfer facilitates the sharing or replication of documents and their associated metadata, or just the metadata, between two or more independent OnBase systems, allowing users to interact with the same information across distributed organizational structures.
This is accomplished by combining the metadata and copies of the documents into a single digital package, which is sent from the source OnBase system to the receiving OnBase system, where it is archived, creating a copy of the sent data in the receiving system.
The Document Types and Keyword Types used to archive received documents do not have to match the source system and they do not need to be changed in either system to allow Document Transfer to function.
