If your EDI 837 solution is licensed for EDI 837 Processor(a license available for OnBase solutions prior to the release of OnBase 11.0), be aware that some changes have been made to how you will be able to process EDI 837 data in OnBase Foundation 23.1:
If your OnBase solution is licensed only for the legacy EDI 837 Processor license, not the new EDI 837 Processor (HIPAA 5010) license:
-
Workstations registered for the EDI 837 Processor license can process EDI 837 Professional 4010 or 4010A HCFA-1500 or Institutional 4010 or 4010A UB-92/UB-04 claim/encounter data.
The workstations CANNOT process EDI 837 Professional 5010 HCFA-1500 or Institutional 5010 UB-92/UB-04 claim/encounter data.
If your OnBase solution is licensed for both the legacy EDI 837 Processor license and the new EDI 837 Processor (HIPAA 5010) license:
-
Workstations registered for only the EDI 837 Processor license CANNOT process ANY EDI 837 claim/encounter data.
-
Workstations registered for both the EDI 837 Processor and the EDI 837 Processor (HIPAA 5010) licenses can process EDI 837 Professional 4010, 4010A, or 5010 HCFA-1500 or Institutional 4010, 4010A, or 5010 UB-92/UB-04 claim/encounter data.

It is considered a best practice to migrate any existing EDI 837 Processor licenses to EDI 837 Processor (HIPAA 5010) licenses. For more information, contact your solution provider.
