  1. Ctrl+S does not save changes made to OnBase documents back into OnBase. If you opened the PowerPoint document from OnBase and press Ctrl+S, changes are saved only to the temporary directory, typically located in C:\Documents and Settings\[user account]\Local Settings\Temp. The file in the Temp directory is removed when the document or PowerPoint is closed.

To ensure that changes are saved to the document within OnBase, use one of the other save commands (for example, OnBase | Import Document, File | Save, or the Save button).

  2. When you attempt to close the document without saving it, you are prompted to save the document. If you choose to save the document to OnBase and then cancel or exit out of the resulting dialog box (the Import Document dialog box, for example), the document is closed and changes are lost.
  3. To save new PowerPoint documents to OnBase, you must select either OnBase | Import Document or File | Save As. The other save commands provide the option to save the document to the file system only.
