When you create a new document from a revisable, multi-page image document, you can either:

  • Create a revision of the original document by deleting the new document's pages from the original document.

  • Save the new document as a revision of the original.

Note:

When creating a new document from an earlier revision of a document, the new document uses pages from that revision of the document, not pages from the latest revision of the document.

From an open document or a document selected in the Document Search Results list:

  1. Right-click and select Send To | Create New Document. The Create new document from existing dialog box is displayed.
  2. Specify the following:

    Option

    Description

    Create from pages

Type the numbers of the original document pages to copy into the new document.

Delete copied pages from original document

Select to delete the pages in the Create from pages field from the original document.

When this setting is selected, Original document will be revised to reflect deleted pages is automatically selected.

When this setting is not selected, Create as revision of original document is available.

Original document will be revised to reflect deleted pages

This setting is automatically selected when Delete copied pages from original document is selected.

When you create the new document, a new revision of the original document is created. The new revision omits the deleted pages.

Create as revision of original document

This setting is available when Delete copied pages from original document is not selected.

Select to save the new document as a revision of the original document. Any changes to the new document's Keyword Values will be overridden with the original document's Keyword Values.

    Note:

If you are creating a new document from a single-page image document, a text document, or from an OLE document, Create as revision of original document is the only available check box.

  3. If you are creating a new document, index it with the appropriate values.
  4. Click OK.

If the new document has the same Keyword Values as an existing revisable document, the Document Revisions dialog box is displayed. The following options are available:
