The EDM Briefcase allows documents to be stored anywhere on your system. To specify the path in which to store your documents:

  1. Select Tools | Options. The EDM Briefcase Options dialog box is displayed.
  2. Specify the Data Storage Location by entering a path or clicking the ellipses (...) button to browse out to a location.
  3. Select Delete empty folders on startup if you want to delete empty folders within EDM Briefcase's Data folder.
    The EDM Briefcase creates subfolders within its Data Storage Location folder for compound documents that have supporting documents. When you check in or remove the compound documents from the EDM Briefcase, the documents are also removed from the subfolders.
  4. Click OK.
