When a user adds a reference document to the EDM Briefcase, the EDM Briefcase keeps track of which user added the document. When installed locally, the standalone EDM Briefcase displays only the reference documents added by the user who is currently logged on to the workstation. When accessed remotely, the standalone EDM Briefcase displays all reference documents because it cannot differentiate between remote users.
The OnBase Client's Briefcase Viewer displays only documents added by the user who is currently logged on to OnBase.
You can prevent remote access to the standalone EDM Briefcase using the DisableRemote registry value on the Briefcase workstation. This DWORD value is created when the standalone Briefcase executable is launched.
Modify the registry at your own risk. Incorrectly editing the Windows registry can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Be sure to back up the registry before making any changes to it.
