Depending on your rights, OnBase allows you to override persistent checkout using the Manage Locks dialog box. For example, this can be useful if a user checks out a document for an extended period of time and other users need to perform work on that document.
To override persistent checkout:

From the Manage Locks dialog box, select the Checkouts tab:
Each row on the Checkouts tab contains the following information:
Column
Description
Document Name
Displays the Auto-Name string of the document.
User
Displays the name of the user that persistently checked-out the document.
