When a document is locked or checked out, it has a status of Read-Only, which is displayed in the status bar at the bottom of the document. Read-Only is displayed also if the Document Type configured to store its documents as read-only.
If another user checked out the document to the OnBase Briefcase, you can see who checked the document out by accessing the document's check-out comments:
- Select a document in the Document Search Results list.
- Right-click and select Check-Out Comments. The resulting dialog box displays the name of the user who checked out the document in the User Name field.
If a document is read-only because another user has it open, place your mouse over the Read-Only status in the status bar of the open document. The user's name is displayed.
If the document is stored as read-only, neither of these methods will reveal a user's name. You cannot modify or check out documents stored as read-only.
