An off-ramp represents a communication path from OnBase to an external system. There are different types of off-ramps, and the type you use depends on the method of communication.
-
A WSDL-based off-ramp is used to store schema information for SOAP services and associated XML elements, as defined in a WSDL file and related XSD files.
See WSDL Off-Ramps.
-
A REST off-ramp uses RESTful HTTP operations to communicate request and response messages between systems.
See REST Off-Ramps.
Several other EIS configuration objects use off-ramps:
-
Message item types can be created using the schema defined in an off-ramp of either type. This ensures that request and response message items are generated with the proper format as defined in the schema.
-
Some Workflow actions use off-ramps to reference operations defined in the off-ramps to send request messages to and receive response messages from an external system.
