Once you have created a serialization type, you can rename it and add fields to the serialization schema.

Note:

You cannot remove or revise fields that have already been saved to the serialization.

To edit an existing serialization type:

  1. Expand the list of available serialization types by clicking the arrow next to the OnBase Object Serialization node in the Integration Services tab of the Repositories pane.
  2. Select the serialization type you want to edit.
  3. To rename the serialization type, right-click it and select Rename. Modify the name and then press Enter.
  4. Settings for the selected serialization type are displayed in the Properties pane:
The fields for XML Compatible Name, Target namespace for serialization types, and Selected Document Type are read-only.
  5. Click View Message Schema to display the schema for the serialized object.
  6. To add fields to the serialization, click Edit. The Edit Fields dialog box is displayed.
This dialog box lists all possible fields to include in the serialization of the OnBase object. Fields that have already been added have a check in the Include column and are read-only. Fields available to be added are blank in the Include column.
  7. Select the Include check box for a field to add it to the serialization.
    Tip:

You can select or deselect the Include/Exclude all option to select or deselect all available fields.

  8. If needed, revise the XML-compatible name for the selected field in the Edit Canonical Name section, then click Set to set the name for that field.
  9. Once you have added and renamed all fields as needed, click Apply. The added fields are added to the Fields list in the Properties panel.
