The following are considered installation best practices for the OnBase Enterprise Integration Server:

Install the OnBase Enterprise Integration Server on a server that is not the OnBase database server, the OnBase Application Server, or a server that is already functioning as a BizTalk server.

Maintain two OnBase Enterprise Integration Server installations; one in your test environment, and one in your production environment.

Only install Visual Studio on the OnBase Enterprise Integration Server installation that resides in your test environment. It is not necessary or recommended to install Visual Studio on the OnBase Enterprise Integration Server installation that resides in your production environment.
