The following upgrade considerations have been compiled by OnBase subject matter experts. These upgrade considerations are general and applicable to most OnBase solutions and network environments and should be considered each time an upgrade is performed.
Carefully consider the impact of making any changes, including those listed below, prior to implementing them in a production environment.
For additional general information about upgrading OnBase, refer to the Upgrade Guidelines reference manual , and visit the Hyland Community at: https://www.hyland.com/community.
- Stop OnBase Ports
-
When upgrading the Enterprise Integration Server, either perform a partial stop of the BizTalk application or stop the individual OnBase ports.
- Upgrade Hyland Adapter
-
Upgrade the Hyland Adapter to the same version as the OnBase Application Server.
- Update OnBase Ports
-
If deploying new Application Server(s) was required, update the OnBase ports to point to the new Application Server(s).
- Start OnBase Ports
-
After updating the OnBase ports as required, start up the BizTalk application and/or individual OnBase ports.
- Upgrade EIS Live Data Services
-
If using EIS Live Data Services to populate External AutoFill Keyword and/or Data sets, perform the following:
-
Upgrade/install Hyland adapter on all OnBase Application Servers servicing the requests.
-
Build new assembly and configuration DLLs and re-import them into the database.
- HTML Encoded UnityScriptExecute Messages
-
When using UnityScriptExecute, any previously deployed orchestrations configured to HTML encode UnityScriptExecute messages will need to be reconfigured before upgrading OnBase. HTML encoding is no longer necessary.
