To configure BizTalk Server, run BizTalk Server Configuration, ensuring that you are running the utility as an administrator.

  1. Launch BizTalk Server Configuration.
  2. The following screen is displayed:
  3. Select Custom configuration.
  4. In the Database server name field, type the name of your SQL Server database.
  5. In the User name field, type the Windows user name of the administrative user.
  6. In the Password field, type the password of the administrative user.
  7. Click Configure.
  8. If you are prompted that the account you specified has administrative privileges, click Yes.
  9. The Microsoft BizTalk Server Configuration dialog box is displayed:
  10. Select Enterprise SSO from the left pane.
  11. Select the Enable Enterprise Single Sign-On on this computer check box.
  12. Select Create a new SSO system.
    Your screen resembles the following example:
  13. In the Windows service pane, click ....
  14. The User Credentials dialog box is displayed.
  15. In the User name field, type the Windows account that the Single Sign-On Service will run under in the following format: domain\username.
  16. In the Password field, type the password for the Windows account.
  17. Click OK to close the User Credentials dialog box.
  18. Select Enterprise SSO Secret Backup from the left pane and configure a secret backup password.
  19. Select Group from the left pane.
  20. Select the Enable BizTalk Server Group on this computer check box.
  21. Select Create a new BizTalk Group.
    Your screen resembles the following example:
  22. In the BizTalk Administrative Roles pane, use the ... to configure the BizTalk Administrators Group and BizTalk Operators Group as Active Directory Groups.
  23. Select BizTalk Runtime from the left pane.
  24. Select the Register the BizTalk Server runtime components check box.
  25. Select both Trusted check boxes.
  26. Select the 32-bit only check boxes.
    Your screen resembles the following example:
  27. In the Windows Service pane, click ... in the BizTalk Host Instance Account row.
  28. The User Credentials dialog box is displayed.
  29. In the User name field, type the Windows account that the BizTalk Host Instance will run under in the following format: domain\username.
  30. In the Password field, type the password for the Windows account.
  31. Click OK to close the User Credentials dialog box.
  32. Select Business Rules Engine from the left pane.
  33. Select the Enable Business Rules Engine on this computer check box.
    Your screen resembles the following example:
  34. In the Windows service pane, click ....
  35. The User Credentials dialog box is displayed.
  36. In the User name field, type the Windows account that the Rule Engine Update Service will run under in the following format: domain\username.
  37. In the Password field, type the password for the Windows account.
  38. Click OK to close the User Credentials dialog box.
  39. Click Apply Configuration.
  40. Review the Summary screen, ensuring that the following components are listed:
    • Enterprise SSO

    • Group

    • BizTalk Runtime

    • Business Rules Engine

  41. Click Next.
    BizTalk completes the configuration.
    After configuration is complete, your screen resembles the following example:
  42. Close the Microsoft BizTalk Server Configuration Wizard.
