Basic Exception Reports return missing and matching documents of a single secondary Document Type related to documents of a base Document Type.

Advanced Exception Reports also return missing and matching documents related to documents of a base Document Type, but allow for multiple secondary Document Types to be related to the base document, in order to track whether multiple, related documents are missing.

You can generate Exception Reports from the OnBase Client in one of two ways:

  • Select Admin | Exception Reports from the menu bar, then select either Basic or Advanced.

  • Alternately, you can generate Exception Reports from the Document Search Results list. After selecting one or more documents, right-click and select either Basic Exception Reports or Advanced Exception Reports.

At the Basic or Advanced Exception Report Dialog window, select the report to generate from the Report Name drop-down list. If you wish to limit your results by date, specify a date range, then click Generate.

Note:

Specifying a date range limits the report based on the Document Date of a secondary Document Type, not the date of the base Document Type.

To limit the results of an Advanced Exception Report to specific Document Types, the report must be generated from the Document Search Results list. The Advanced Exception Report Dialog window displayed with this method contains the Selected Documents Only check box. Select this check box to limit the report results to only those documents selected in the Document Search Results list.

On the initial creation of the report, the finished report is displayed in a text viewer window. Exception Reports are saved in the system under the SYS - Exception Reports Document Type. Anyone with access to the SYS - Exception Reports Document Type can view the report at a later time.

The content of Exception Reports is broken into sections, as described below.
