TWAIN scanners automatically notify the Express Scanning client when the last page has been scanned so that the Express Scanning client can display the Document Complete dialog box to the user.

However, some TWAIN scanners do not automatically send this message to the Express Scanning client, and the Express Scanning client appears to become unresponsive as it waits for more information from the scanner.

If your TWAIN scanner does not automatically send this notification to the Express Scanning client, then you can force the scanner to send this notification by adding the forceclose setting to the SCANFORMAT sub-element.
