In order to grant users access to the portal, the external user requests submitted from the portal must be approved in Workflow. To do so, a Unity Life Cycle routing external user requests must be created in OnBase Studio.

The life cycle can be configured to fit your needs, but the following elements are required:

  • The life cycle must be created as a Unity Life Cycle that routes external user requests.

  • The Create External User action must be present for the creation of users. See Create External User for more information.

  • The Set User Group must be present for the creation of users. See Set User Group for more information.

Note:

The user configured for granting external users access to the portal must have User and User Group configuration rights. For more information about configuring rights and permissions, see the System Administration module reference guide.

If you want to require user interaction for the creation of users, configure the Create External User and Set User Group actions as ad hoc tasks. These actions can also be automated as system work depending on your business needs. The remaining actions in the External Access group provide additional functionality.

Note:

See the Workflow module reference guide for more information about creating life cycles, queues, and actions.
