To configure MIME type mappings to be used with FHIR:

  1. In the Configuration module, select Medical | FHIR | MIME Types. The MIME Type Mappings dialog box is displayed.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • To create a new MIME type mapping, click Add.

    • To modify an existing MIME type mapping, select it and click Settings, or double-click the MIME type mapping in the list.

The MIME Type Configuration dialog box is displayed.

  3. For a new mapping, enter the MIME type in the MIME Type field. The MIME type must be in the format of type/subtype. For example, your solution might use a MIME type of text/plain to identify plain text files.
    Note:

The MIME Type field cannot be edited once the MIME type mapping has been saved.

  4. Use the File Format drop-down list to map a file format to the MIME type. This setting controls how OnBase renders documents imported as this MIME type.
    Note:

The File Format field cannot be edited once the MIME type mapping has been saved.

  5. To configure the file extensions that are mapped to this MIME type, do one of the following:
    • To add a new file extension to the list, click Add.

    • To modify an existing file extension, select it and click Modify, or double-click the file extension in the list.

The MIME Type File Extension dialog box is displayed.

  6. Enter a file extension that you want to map to this MIME type. You do not need to enter a leading period before the file extension. The leading period is automatically omitted and the file extension is converted to lowercase when you save the setting. For example, for a text file extension, enter txt instead of .txt.
  7. Select the Set as default extension option to use this file extension as the default file extension for the MIME type. Incoming documents are saved using the default extension.
    Note:

You must set a default file extension for each MIME type. Even if the MIME type has only one file extension mapped to it, that file extension must be set as the default extension.

  8. Click OK. The file extension is added to the File Extensions list in the MIME Type Configuration dialog box.
  9. To map multiple file extensions to the MIME type, repeat steps 58 to add additional file extensions.
  10. To change the default extension to a different existing file extension in the File Extensions list, select the file extension and click Set as Default.
  11. To remove a file extension from the File Extensions list, select the file extension and click Remove.
  12. Click Save.
