Renditions are versions of a document that are generated in a file format that differs from the original. Documents that undergo OCR processing are originally images or PDFs, and the resulting file format is text-based (e.g., text, rich format text, Microsoft Word, etc.).

Documents that undergo OCR processing must belong to a Document Type that is renditionable in order for the OCR engine to process them into text-based documents.

To configure a Document Type to be renditionable:

  1. From the OnBase Configuration module, select Document | Document Types.
  2. Select the Document Type to be configured and click Rendition/Revision . The Rendition/Revision Control Settings dialog box is displayed.
  3. Select the Allow Multiple Renditions option.
  4. Click Save & Close.
