As with Document Imaging, there are several levels of security required for OCR. The first is network security. The workstation performing OCR must be logged into the network as a user with write access to the first mass storage location.
OnBase security has several levels, depending on the function of the user. To configure scan queues and formats, create scanning reports, and scan/sweep documents, users must belong to a user group with scan rights. In the Configuration module, select Users | User Groups/Rights. Highlight the user group, click Product Rights and select the Scan option.
To view documents in a batch, Retrieve/View privileges are required. To grant document view privileges, in the Configuration module, select User | User Groups/Rights. Highlight the user group name on the User Groups & Rights dialog box and click Privileges. Then select the Retrieve/View option in the Documents section.
To purge a batch, OnBase delete privileges and administrative processing privileges are required. To grant document delete privileges, in the Configuration module, select User | User Groups/Rights. Highlight the user group name on the User Groups & Rights dialog box and click Privileges. Then select Delete in the Documents section.
To grant administrative rights for imaging, highlight the user group name on the User Groups & Rights dialog box and click Product Rights. Then select the Document Imaging option in the Administrative Processing Privileges section.
