The Document Status pane contains document-level information for documents configured for Full-Text Search.

The Document Status pane is divided into the following columns:

Column

Description

Status

Day-forward and backfile documents can be in one of the following statuses:

  • Pending: The number of documents awaiting indexing.

  • In-Progress: The number of documents currently being indexed. These counts should decrease as documents are indexed.

  • Failed: The number of documents that were unable to be indexed. To re-queue failed documents, click Queue Failed Documents.

  • Complete: The number of documents successfully indexed.

The Total row displays the total counts of day-forward and backfile documents in all statuses.

Note:

The status of documents does not change as each single document is processed, but is only updated as each chunk of documents changes status. A single chunk may contain up to 4,000 documents.

Day Forward

The number of documents with the corresponding status. Day-forward documents were archived after the full-text catalog was configured and are automatically queued to be indexed for full-text searching.

Backfile

The number of documents with the corresponding status. Backfile documents were archived before the full-text catalog was configured and are manually queued to be indexed. See Indexing, Re-Indexing, and Removing Documents.

To refresh the counts in the Document Status pane click Refresh Data at the top of the pane:
