The EDI Processor for HL7 allows OnBase to receive HL7 messages in the form of batch files. When an EDI Process runs on an HL7 batch message file, it executes the configured message actions in the same manner as the HL7 Listener. However, the EDI Processor is not limited by the 2 GB maximum file size that other HL7 import processors are; batch files of any size are supported. Documents created using the EDI Processor are available under Awaiting Commit in the EDI Queue.
Like the HL7 Listener, the EDI Processor requires the HL7 Back-end Job Processor for performing tasks such as creating revisions and updating AutoFill Keyword Sets on documents.
If any errors relating to HL7 data occur during an EDI Process, they are written to HL7 error logs, not the EDI Process Verification Report. See Troubleshooting Tools for more information on HL7 error logging.
