The HL7 Auto-Sender can be configured to automatically re-queue failed messages and try sending them again. When this feature is turned on, the Auto-Sender checks for unsuccessful messages after sending all queued messages.
Once a configured period has elapsed, the Auto-Sender re-queues one unsuccessful message to test. If the message is sent successfully, then the Auto-Sender re-queues all remaining unsuccessful messages, marks them as Unsent, and then sends them.
If initially unsuccessful messages are re-queued, but again fail to be sent successfully, the HL7 Auto-Sender waits for the configured period of time before making another attempt to send them. The unsuccessful messages remain queued during this time, and the HL7 Auto-Sender will not send any pending messages until the configured period expires.
This feature can be turned on or off for different export destinations. In the destination's HL7 Destination Settings dialog box, locate the Retry failed sends after __ minutes option.
-
To turn this feature on, enter the number of minutes the Auto-Sender should wait before re-queuing a message. Any value greater than 0 minutes turns the feature on.
-
To turn the feature off, set this value to 0.
The Retry failed sends after __ minutes option tells the Auto-Sender to find and send every HL7 message in OnBase that has a status of Failed. This behavior can cause problems if the failed messages have already been addressed outside of OnBase. Before enabling this feature, use the OnBase HL7 Event Log to find and address any existing HL7 messages with a status of Failed.
