Option

Description

Medical Records Document Patient and Chart Attachment

This setting determines the point at which imported medical record documents are initially attached to patients and charts. For more information, see Medical Records Document Patient and Chart Attachment.

Force Uppercase Alphanumeric Data Fields

Note:

If you are using an Oracle database, this option is selected by default and should not be disabled.

When this option is selected, characters in alphanumeric chart string fields are stored in the database in uppercase. This option helps alleviate issues that could arise with databases that perform case-sensitive querying.

Note:

If you select this option after charts have entered your system, then the existing charts may need to be updated to accommodate the new setting, depending on your database. Contact your first line of support for assistance.

Assign New Medical Records Document Types to Chart Context

This setting controls whether new medical record Document Types are automatically designated for storing chart documents.

Note:

This setting does not apply to new Document Types created by copying existing Document Types. When a Document Type is copied, the resulting copy has the same chart context configuration as the original Document Type.

When this setting is enabled:

  • Document Types added to a medical record Document Type Group will be automatically designated for storing chart documents. This designation is irreversible.

  • Assigning a Document Type to a medical record Document Type Group will trigger a warning notifying the administrator that the Document Type will be used for charts.

  • Applying the Contains Medical Record Document Types setting to a Document Type Group will cause all Document Types in the group to be designated for storing chart documents.

When this setting is disabled:

  • New medical record Document Types will not be automatically designated for chart documents.

  • To designate new Document Types for chart documents, you must update the configuration under Medical | Context Configuration | Chart Context Document Types.

  • You can create Document Types specifically for clinical patient documents, which do not belong to charts.

  • Assigning Document Types to medical record Document Type Groups will not trigger a warning.

Burn Failure Notification User

This setting specifies the OnBase user who should be notified when a disk group error is found during the document burning process. When a disk group error prevents a document from being burned, the analysis server sends a preconfigured e-mail notification to the user selected here. Ensure the selected user has an e-mail address configured in User Settings.

Closure Server Polling Interval (Minutes)

This setting specifies the frequency at which the Closure Server checks for loose documents, suspended charts, and inactive charts. The default value is 1 minute, and the maximum allowed value is 60 minutes.

Medical Records AutoFill Keyword Set Expands Patient Gender to

This setting determines whether medical AutoFill Keyword Sets containing a gender Keyword Value should use the HL7 code or the display name to update that Gender Type.

  • Select HL7 Code to use the raw code value for AutoFill Keyword Set expansion. For example, F for female.

  • Select Display Name to use the configured display name for AutoFill Keyword Set expansion. For example, Female for female.
