After adding one or more records to the Results list using the search functionality (see Find Patient Records), you can select an item from the list to display detailed information about it under the tabs in the Patient Administration window.

The items in the Results list are displayed as a tree, with the patient record as the root level. Expand the patient record item to view associated medical records, and expand medical record items to view charts associated with the medical record.

The displayed names of items in the Results list are populated by different identifiers depending on whether the item is a patient, medical record, or chart. Names are formatted as follows:

[ Internal ID ] MPI LastName, FirstName MiddleName

Medical Record

[ Internal ID ] MRN

Chart

[ Internal ID ] ChartID(AdmitDate- DischargeDate)

Note:

Charts without a discharge date include only an admit date.

Note:

If your system is configured to use assigning authorities for MPI, MRN, or chart ID, the assigning authority value is appended to those identifiers in the name.

Select an item from the Results list to view its details in the tabs on the right side of the Patient Administration window. The relevant tab for the item type (Patient, Medical Record, or Chart) is automatically displayed based on your selection.

For any patient, medical record, or chart in the Results list, you can click on the Documents tab to view all of the documents associated with it. Double-click on a listed document to open it in a viewer window.
