You can manually configure assigning authorities in OnBase Configuration.

To add an assigning authority:

  1. In OnBase Configuration, select Medical | HL7 | Coded Entries | Assigning Authority. The Assigning Authority Configuration dialog box is displayed.
  2. Type the HL7 code for the assigning authority in the field provided.
Make sure this code is entered correctly. Once the assigning authority is created, this value cannot be changed.
  3. Press ENTER or click Create. The Settings dialog box is displayed.
  4. If necessary, type a friendly name for the assigning authority in the field provided. The friendly name is displayed in user-facing contexts, such as the OnBase Patient Window. Note the following requirements and restrictions:
    • If the friendly name and HL7 code do not match exactly, then you must use HL7 translation tables to map the HL7 code to the friendly name. This mapping is necessary to support merge and update actions for AutoFill Keyword Sets.

    • A friendly name cannot match another assigning authority's friendly name or HL7 code.

    • Once the friendly name is assigned, you cannot change it without the -MRMSINSTALL command line switch and password verification.
