If any of the following import processes are configured to use the $$DOCREVDATE predefined field value for evaluating revisions, then you must configure the Catch replayed transcription message documents to document type setting:

  • Advanced Document Import

  • External Transcription and Deficiency Processing

When the HL7 Listener receives a transcription document using one of these processes, it can use the mapped $$DOCREVDATE field value to determine whether the incoming document is newer than an existing revision of the document.

Note:

The import processes must have revision support enabled for this feature to work.

If the incoming document is newer, then the HL7 Listener stores it as a revision to the existing document. If the incoming document is the same age or older than the existing document, then the HL7 Listener archives it to the Document Type selected under Catch replayed transcription message documents to document type.

To configure the Catch replayed transcription message documents to document type setting:

  1. Select Medical | HL7 | Settings. The HL7 Settings dialog box is displayed.
  2. Under Catch replayed transcription message documents to document type, select the Document Type where OnBase should archive older transcriptions.
    Note:

To preserve data integrity, ensure all Keyword Types used by HL7 are assigned to the Document Type. It is considered a best practice to use a Document Type with a default file format of Text Report Format.

  3. Click Save.
