The HL7 Event Log can retrieve messages sent by the HL7 Sender during a specific period. Using HL7 Settings, you can change the default date range and sort order for messages retrieved using the HL7 Event Log.

  1. Select Medical | HL7 | Settings. The HL7 Settings dialog box is displayed.

    HL7 Event Log settings are located in the HL7 Event Log Window section.

  2. In the Default date range field, enter the default number of days from which the HL7 Event Log should retrieve messages.

    • The current date is included in the date range. For example, if the Default date range is 5 and a user opens the HL7 Event Log on May 10, the default date range will be from May 6 through May 10 of the current year.

    • If you enter 0, the default date range will be from the first day of the current month through the current date.

  3. Select the default sort order for retrieved messages.

    • Ascending order displays messages from oldest to most recent.

    • Descending order displays messages from most recent to oldest.

    When using the HL7 Event Log in the Client, you can sort messages using different criteria by clicking the corresponding column header.

  4. Click Save.
