OnBase Configuration allows you to export HL7 configuration items so that they can be imported into other OnBase systems or backed up for disaster recovery. You can export the following HL7-specific items:
-
Chart Data Fields [used with HL7]
-
HL7 Import Processes
-
HL7 Message Templates
-
HL7 Translation Tables
-
Medical records Document Types
Contact your first line of support before importing Document Types belonging to a Document Type Group configured for medical records. Medical records documents require additional contextual data not included in the import/export process.
Keep the following considerations in mind when importing and exporting medical configuration items:
-
For chart data fields, the Create action is not available. Chart data fields can only be mapped to or replace items that have the same field ID. If the source and destination chart data field have different configurations, Replace is selected as the automatic resolution. If the source and destination field have the same configuration, Map is selected as the automatic resolution. By default, automatically mapped items are filtered out of the import list.
-
If a Workflow action uses a configured HL7 destination, the destination can be exported and imported along with the rest of the life cycle. See the Studio module reference guide for more details.
-
HL7 segments may be available for import as a result of an association with an HL7 message template. Because a segment may be associated with multiple HL7 message templates, each segment must be explicitly addressed before the associated message template is imported.
-
System tasks may be available for import as a result of an association with an HL7 import process. The only import actions available for system tasks are No Action and Map.
-
When importing a Document Type belonging to a medical records Document Type Group, a warning is displayed, asking you to contact your first line of support. Medical records documents require additional contextual data not included in the import/export process.
When importing an export package, additional associated configuration items may require decisioning. For a list of other configuration items that can be exported and imported, and for details on using the Export Wizard, see the System Administration module reference guide.
Depending on system configuration, the Import and Export wizards may enforce certain requirements, such as encryption or file size limits for packages. For more information on these requirements, see your system administrator.
