In order for the HL7 module to process or generate an HL7 message, there must be a template configured for the associated message type. For example, when receiving or sending an ADT^A01 message, the HL7 module uses a template configured for the ADT^A01 message type.
To configure a message template:

Select Medical | HL7 | Message Template. The HL7
Message Template Configuration dialog box is displayed.

Click Segments. The HL7 Segments Assigned dialog box is displayed.
Note:If you add or remove segments from a message template, OnBase automatically saves the change.

Double-click a field, or select one and click Settings. The HL7 Field Settings dialog box is displayed.
