The HL7 Segment Fields dialog box displays the fields contained in the segment.
By default, the list of fields is displayed according to Field ID, but they can be sorted using to the data contained in other columns. Click the respective column headers to sort the list by the values in those columns, and click again to toggle between descending and ascending order.

Field ID |
The location of the data within the segment. If the field ID contains two numbers separated by a decimal point, it represents a component. For example, if the field ID is 3.1, the data is expected in the first component of the third field. If the field ID contains three numbers separated by decimal points, it represents a subcomponent. For example, if the field ID is 3.1.2, the data is expected in the second subcomponent of the first component of the third field. |

A short description of the data expected in this field. |
User Defined |
The Default Value of the field, specified as either as a static, hard-coded value or a predefined, non-keyword variable. See Predefined Default Values for more on predefined values. The following may also be displayed:

Keyword Type |
The OnBase Keyword Type to which the field, component, or subcomponent is mapped. The following may also be displayed:

Data Field |
The chart data field to which the message field is mapped. Chart data fields mapped under Medical | Charts | Data Fields are displayed in a light gray text with an *(asterisk) before the data field name. Translation |

Allows you to add new fields to the segment. If you create a new segment, you also must create the associated fields. |
Delete |
Allows you to delete the selected field. Note:
Once a field is deleted, it cannot be recovered. To add the field back, you must re-create the field and configure its settings. |

Deselect the currently selected field. |
Settings |
Allows you to configure settings and keyword mappings for the selected field. Tip:
