Message template settings control how a message template is identified by the HL7 Listener and by outbound message destinations.

To configure message template settings:

  1. Select Medical | HL7 | Message Template. The HL7 Message Template Configuration dialog box is displayed.
  2. Select the message template and click Settings.
  3. Update the message type in the fields provided for its component parts. Enter the message code in the first field, and the event type in the second field.
    CAUTION: HL7 is an established standard. Before changing the message type, ensure you understand the consequences of using a message type outside of those specified in the HL7 specification.
  4. If necessary, select the appropriate processing option. The Production, Debug, and Test processing options control the Processing ID value that is sent in the MSH.11 field.
  5. Click Save.
